The tarty frozen yogurt fad has finally reached Michigan! Last week I was biking through State Street with a friend on the way to the mall (who bikes to a mall? It's not ideal because you get sweaty back syndrome) when I saw swirlberry which I very excitedly pointed out to my friend. I was sure it was froyo place even though I had only gotten a very quick look. But nobody could deny it. It had berry in its name like pinkberry. Its font was chic, mod, and cutely round also like Pinkberry, but also red mango (they also don't use capital letters) . I was so excited.
So last night KT and I went downtown for a car show with swirlberry also a planned stop. Oh, it was so disappointing. It looks right (almost) with mod furniture and huge pictures of fruit on the wall. It's even self serve like Yogurtland (I miss you!) which I love since I usually don't want that much. But, it came out of the machine strangely mushy, and then we paid and it was, woa, 65 cents/oz as compared with Yogurtland's 30-so cents. And then, the mochi balls were too doughy and floury. The froyo was at least tarty but it can't compare to any of the West Coast froyo chains.
Anyway, there was a thunder storm this morning which was weird as hell also. It rains in summer?! But I've gotten much more used to it, just not completely. It's humid and hot and I wish I were at Yogurtland!
you should get this car. but it looks too dangerous. but it's wayyy too cute!
ReplyDeletep.s. yogurtland misses you also.
