Tandem

The tandem is complete! KT did all the work and I helped make it too but also helped to mess it up as well. We're going to name it Doppio like a double shot espresso because there's two of us. I wanted to name it Doppio Xpresso (of eXpresso) but I didn't work on my sales pitch enough and it didn't fly. KT and I went on our first ride and it was great because if I were on a one person bike, it would've taken us a lot longer and I probably would've turned around a lot sooner. There's a panda at the bottom of the picture for size comparison.

TV land

I now have 200 channels available to browse through on my TV. This was because my promotional package ended (it's been a year since I moved to Michigan!). I told the Comcast person that I wanted a cable/internet package but hardly used cable (not since online streaming TV has become so easy!), so I just wanted the basic channels. After putting me on hold for a bit, the person came back on and offered me the 200 channel + On Demand/Internet package. I was a sucker and didn't feel like talking anymore so I said fine, it was only a $20 increase for 100 more channels then I had before, was my justification to myself.

I also was bored without a job/school so I did the free 2 week trial for Netflix and ended up subscribing.

Now there are too many things to watch and I rather read a book.

It finally happened.

I got stung by a bee or maybe a wasp. Maybe it was a tiny flying vampire since my neck was the target. It happened while I was on my first bike ride since September. Kenneth was confused if I was laughing or crying. It was probably both!

Catching Up on my Tagalog Reading

today i bought filipino versions of Maxim and FHM. they're not too bad, a good balance of pictures and reading materials. but the articles are mostly things i don't care about, i.e. some girl model's secret fantasy, etc. i don't even think she's pretty. and they're all pale. you'd think they'd put girls that are at least decently tanned, but nooo...they all have to be pale. and some of them are pole dancer chicks from russia. i really don't understand that. all the articles are in english, but the interviews of the pale pornstars are in tagalog, mixed in with a hint of bad english.

so i guess this blog entry is a bit misleading because i'm not really catching up on my tagalog reading, but it sounds like i'm actually making the effort to not forget how to read. maybe one day i'll be brave enough to pick up my Jose Rizal novels again. they're starting to collect dust, and i'm afraid the pages will be too yellow to read soon.

Happy First Year Work-Sary to Me!

wow. did it really happen? today i celebrate my First Year Work-Sary! yay! pretty cool, huh?

my plan was to take pictures of my cubicle today to show you the current state of it. and how i never try hard enough to clean it and keep it clean. and what an office slob i am. but i forgot to do it. tomorrow...i promise...i will take come in to work early and take pictures.

it wouldn't hurt if one of you guys would be a sweetheart and remind me. (one text per person only, please. i don't have unlimited texting. :P)

the more important part of this celebration, however, is my shameless shopping spree! i bought 3 pairs of shoes last weekend and another 2 pairs tonight. yay! i need to stop shamelessly spending soon though, because i don't want to be poor. but here you are kids, come, lust after my pretty acquisitions!
