Almost ________!

ALMOST SNOWBOARDING! Both Bear and Mt High have been open since Halloween weekend, and they've been making new fake snow since. And I'm planning to go on my bday weekend. I know it won't be anything too glorious because we're in SoCal and we just make do of what hard packed fake snow we have, but it's still pretty cool. At least I won't be sitting on my ass on the weekends, and my drinking will also be tuned down a little. Maybe I can extend life a few years longer if only....if only I go at least once, maybe twice, every month. I figured it'll be more expensive than drinking, but I think it's worth the life extension LOL.

Anyway...my board just got tuned up + waxed. Yay! (Thank you David, but no...you may not "borrow" Marla Singer!) The bottom looks really nice and smooth and almost new now. You should've seen it before it got fixed. It was rough and carved out, and it had like, deep lines from where the stupid Mt High ice scratched the hell out of it. It looked like string cheese, except it wasn't soft. That probably doesn't make sense, but here's a picture of it. Too bad I don't have a Before picture, and you really can't see how smooth it is now. But here it is.

ALMOST NEW MOON! I know I already said this before, but it's so exciting that I just can't stop blabbing about it! Five more days! Are you guys ready for this? I'm hoping nothing weird happens at work. My San Clemente job (that one job that kept me working 50+ hours/week) just came back with comments, so that'll take most of my time this coming week. I haven't seen the comments yet, but if it's crazily redlined everywhere, I'll work more Monday-Wednesday and leave on time Thursday night. Nothing shall come in between me and my midnight showing ticket! Hahahaha.

ALMOST TWENTY-THREE! Man, I'm really starting to feel old. I keep thinking everyone is jailbait, and I feel so insecure when I see all these kids who are younger than me. But...on the brighter side of life, I got this very cute panda thing. It's a flash drive, and I don't know where/when/for what I'll use it, but I like it! It's another bday present from David, but don't think it's enough bribe to "borrow" Marla. Like I said before, No...you may not "borrow" Marla. :) But it's too cute. I don't want to take it out of the box.

I Stole a FB Pic

I don't want to sound like a geek or anything, but I really did try to make some sense out of this. And still, most of it don't make sense. All I know is, the square root of a heart is a broken heart. But no, that sounds so wrong. And what is the derivative of a heart? Zero? Because a heart is not a function. But what if "Heart" is a function?

This reminds of a short story I had to read for one of my writing classes. I don't have the copy anymore. I remember giving it to Maisterbate to read, but I could be wrong. Somebody had it, and it never made it back to me. I just wish I remember what it's called or who wrote it. All I remember is that it's written by this ME guy from MIT. In the story, some guy is so in love with this girl, but the girl can't decide if she loves him back or not. So the guy tries to explain how his love for her is pure, etc. The guy is a math person, so he does this by writing all these equations, where you take the derivatives of things (similar to how Jabbarri taught us how to find the acceleration of a rotating body by knowing its position equation). But in the end, the guy stops solving the equations and doesn't provide any real answer to the question "What is love?"

I'm guessing he just gives up in the end. But in class, when we were discussing it, I remember saying that assuming his love for the girl is constant, then taking the derivative of that will give you zero. So, if the rate of change of his love is zero, then it means it won't ever change, right? And the class just stared at me like I'm a moron. :)

But now I'm thinking, I was so wrong in so many levels. Because nobody said that Love was constant. What if it was something else? A function? Or even imaginary (i-Love)? What does Love represent if it were a variable? And who assigns it its value? So I guess you really can't put it in an equation and expect it to give you a real answer, like 1+2=3. If it did work like that, it wouldn't even be a question anymore. You'll just know it's 3 because you learned that in kindergarten.

Marla Singer's First Traffic School Experience

$400+ later, and "case has been dismissed" (exact quote from the email i got today). $382 for the ticket, $11.95 for online traffic school, $9 for "identity verification" and all it did was ask me which hospital on the list was closest to my house and if i recognized any of the people on another list. wtf.

and i didn't even do anything wrong. how could i possibly have gone "eighty-four miles per hour" on the 405 at 5:10-5:15ish? 70 maybe, but not 84. and it all happened too soon. i hadn't even gotten my license plate when i got pulled over. and the cop was a jackass. wasn't it obvious that i was sick and barely functioning? plus, i was already crying on the inside by the time i had to weave out of traffic, which suddenly got worse when the cop started flashing his red lights. at this time, i couldn't be going past 3o mph.

i think i should've contested it and tried to defend myself. but what chance did i have? it would've been his words against mine, and i figured it wouldn't be worth all the stress. or would it? and my court date was set for Nov 19th, which made me a lot less eager to go through all that trouble.

New Moon comes out on the 20th, so i'm going to be in line by like, 8-9ish so i can get good seats for the midnight showing. i finally got tickets for it, yay! ten more days! yay! i'm excited! once again, i'll get to wear my Team Jacob shirt and not feel like an idiot. my plan is to go straight home after work, change out of my boring work clothes into my Team Jacob shirt, pick up hs best friend, drive us and my Team Jacob sis and Team Edward cousin to BPM, leave them there, while i get food for us to camp out until they let us in. or i'll go take a nap in the car. i don't know how i'll stay awake at work the next day, but that can be figured out.

i think i might be too old for New Moon and be wearing a Team Jacob shirt. please, don't let me be too old. please, don't let me be too old :(

My Post-Vacation Shallowness

I want to be on a very long vacation. I want a month to travel and see the world and another month to do nothing. I won't be your average lazy cheese ball. I just won't do anything structured or organized or in line with being a productive person. I will wake up at 10am, make some hot chocolate and then wash my lovely car. Then, shower, drive around while I master my paddle shifters, and then maybe go to a bookstore and read. Then I will go home and cook something. Maybe I will be a better cook after my month-long hibernation. And then I will do nothing. I will lay in bed and not move.

Joejoe is a failure at life. (I don't normally blog about other people, but I already told him I'd blog about him, so I'm spreading gossip about him now :P). We were in Japan for a week and epically failed for 3 days! Saturday night, he failed to wake us up to go clubbing/bar hopping/drinking. Sunday night, he doesn't even remember half of what happened. Monday morning, he was dying and had to miss out on the museum trip, which had been planned out and paid for a long time ago. And, allow me to Joejoe. "I don't know what's real." "I don't understand." "Okay, you guys go without me...Don't leave me!!!" But, minus all the failures, Joejoe is cool. LOL.

As for right now, I'm heavily leaning towards a sober birthday. I figured I drink for fun on a regular weekend anyway, so why not do something different, something more special for my birthday? But I guess, if enough people tell me I should go drinking with them, then so be it. Let's go drink, but I still want to save Thanksgiving weekend for snowboarding (Bear and Mt High opened last weekend!!) So sometime between now and my birthday, tell me where you want my drunken body and it will be there. Hahaha.

*

I want to get another tattoo for my birthday present to myself, but I don't have a cool design yet. And plus, I've been getting myself birthday presents for the past few months, so maybe I should lay off the spending.

Man...I'm soooo in love with my car. The price I'm paying is a little steep, but if love and happiness really cost that much, then it's all worth it.

Monday. And It Feels Weird To Be Home

so today is monday. and i'm not at work. i called in sick for the first time ever. not even when i was interning. not even when i was working dead-end shit jobs. today was the first ever. and i don't even feel that sick anymore. granted, i still don't feel normal, but i've felt worse and never called in sick. i think i totally could've toughed it out at work today. but whatevs. this isn't exactly my idea of a nice day off. but i'll take it.

it seems like nothing is line and nothing feels right these past couple of days. i feel like crap. Marla Singer got keyed. the dollar is going down the shithole (which means my japan trip will be extra expensive). doctor doesn't want to see me because apparently he's too busy. what's next? i don't know. i just don't want to fail at life.

but on the brighter side of life...EIGHTEEN DAYS UNTIL MICHIGAN!!! i'm super stoked! aren't you? are we going to do outdoor stuff? night life? stay in? what to do...what to do...i'm happy i don't have to pimp out my body for a ride to the airport ;)

my dryer is working!!!!!

i'm so glad my dryer is working normally now!

so these past few months, when i dried my clothes, i would have to dry a load about three cycles to dry almost completely. every 2 weeks, i usually did three loads of laundry, one for whites, one for colors, and one for darks. for each load to dry, i would have to run 3 dry cycles. so for 3 loads of laundry, i would run about 9 cycles and it would take almost the WHOLE day! i finally put in a service request because i got tired of doing laundry most of the day. and now, it only takes one cycle to dry a load! hallelujah!!!!!!!!! it's not even noon yet, and i'm almost done with laundry. it feels good to not feel like laundry dictates my weekends. :)
